The Chimera - Witcher 3 Extended Bestiary

About a year ago I finished playing "The Witcher 3", and was inspired to start a concept design challenge for myself where I would add original creatures to The Witcher's bestiary and try to imagine and design them for that world. Unfortunately life got in the way, and this project was forestalled, but this design came out fairly well and I wanted to push myself to finish it. As usual, my tendency to turn quick concepts into fully rendered illustrations took over

The Chimera is a hybrid creature, so I decided to mix components of existing Witcher monsters into a single genetic abomination. There are elements of Fiends, Griffins, Insectoids, and Wyverns. Although it has remnants of wings, this Chimera is flightless, using its wings more as a tool for scaling steep inclines, or for stability while rushing at prey on its hind legs.
